AI & Automation Engineer

High Performance Aviation, LLC is seeking an AI & Automation Engineer to play a key role in building and improving the systems that power their operations. The mission is to help the company operate like a modern AI-enabled company by automating workflows, integrating systems, building internal tools, and improving operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems from the ground up, experimenting with new AI tools, and creating practical solutions that have immediate business impact in a fast-moving small business environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows that eliminate manual processes and improve operational efficiency

• Create seamless connections between business systems using APIs, webhooks, and cloud-based integrations

• Develop custom business logic, scripts, and integrations using Python and JavaScript

• Research, integrate, and optimize AI tools including OpenAI APIs, embeddings, document processing, and AI-assisted workflows

• Build lightweight operational tools, dashboards, and customer-facing systems that improve efficiency and client experience

• Debug, test, and optimize workflows and systems for reliability, scalability, and maintainability

• Support deployment workflows, cloud-hosted systems, GitHub repositories, and technical infrastructure as needed

• Maintain clear technical documentation and provide guidance to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience building workflows using platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar automation tools (n8n experience strongly preferred)

• Strong skills in Python and JavaScript, particularly in automation and integration environments

• Deep understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, and system integrations

• Working knowledge of AI tools, large language models, and emerging automation technologies

• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong communication within a small, dynamic team

• Ability to quickly identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical technical solutions

Nice-to-haves:

• Located in or near Conroe, TX for occasional in-person collaboration

• Experience with CRM systems and cloud-based business platforms

• Familiarity with GitHub, cloud hosting platforms, and deployment workflows

• Experience building internal business tools or operational systems

• Background in aviation, sales operations, or B2B environments
